2003, it's been fun...or something [31 Dec 2003|07:15pm]
[ music | Alanis Morissette "UR" ]

Hey ya, motherfuckers, I'm back once more before the new year comes and takes all into...gasp...the future. I'd figure my last entry of the sexy 2003 would be a concise reflection of the past year's coolest events...don't y'all get teary eyed.

...Drama trip to University of Illinois. 200 year old pianos never die...Up The Down Staircase, the play that really changed everything. After-effects of that play are still around today, believe it or not. Good lord...I made new friends this year. This is the year where I've met a lot of interesting characters who have twisted and contorted my world into something different...mostly for the better...Literary Festival happened this year... that's a day I won't soon forget...I met Liz fucking Phair. Hugged her. Loved her. Am seeing her again in March...Cedar Point. Three days that will live in...infamy, dare I say?...Papa died. Not totally unexpected but not easy to take either. However, the wake was actually a lot of fun for the most part, and I don't know if I've ever eaten that many Ritz crackers in one day since...2003 is the year for me listening to the following artists and albums: The Carpenters "Singles 1969-1981," Liz Phair, "Liz Phair," Kylie Minogue, "Fever," all of Aimee Mann's cds, the whole Madonna catalog, especially the disappointing but still listenable "American Life," and the rebirth and re-loving of PJ Harvey...I learned about friendship like no other year this year...and it's official...I still have the coolest friends on earth... I learned that my mom cannot be overhyped...she is a super-goddess and she is insane and it rocks... I also got my Driver's License...you should still be scared about that... I've been paranoid to no end this year...I've overstressed this year so much...I've taken for granted all the most beautiful and most REAL things in my life...and in 2004, I make a resolution to learn to remember those things, and to remember that I am so blessed and so cool and that I will always be in the best spirits when I remember just how wonderful everything is. I am on top of my game no matter what, because I am myself, and that is the best I can be. Thank you to anyone who has been a part of my life in the past year, you are all worth it. Thank you to the people who have been so receptive and understanding in the past few months...you all give me hope and the incentive to keep figuring myself out...and I hope that next year is as rewarding and as challenging and as exciting as last year...after all, college happens in 2004, so change is going to be happening hardcore. Hope I can sail through those changes, "Landslide" style. I hope you're all there with me. Peace, and Happy New Year. You deserve it.

Louis.
